Understanding Your Estimate

Here are a few helpful tips to understand the different auto body repair
operations that might be listed on your estimate.

–R&I means remove and install, this is for items like door handles or
stationary pieces of glass that we remove during the repairs and then
install it again when reassembling the car.
–Repair means what you think, these are the repair operations, like
cosmetically repairing a dent or scratches, this is where the damaged
pieces or panels start to look like new again.
–Remove/Replace is a term for replacing panels that are too damaged to
repair or plastic parts that are cracked or broken during the collision.
–PDR or paintless dent removal, this is the process of removing dents but
without having to paint the panels because the dents are massaged out
using specialized tools.
–Refinish is the prep and paint process for repaired bodywork. This is
when the final paint color is sprayed on and then covered with a strong,
shiny and protective clear coat.
